March 2008: ChildSafe Center now open 24 hours / 7 days per week
The ChildSafe Center, which is an information center for travelers and ChildSafe members, the base for the ChildSafe hotline and a referral center for children at risk, is now open around the clock as a safe haven for children. Children at risk who are brought in by ChildSafe members or through the hotline now have a safe place to stay overnight before being referred to a suitable service at one of ChildSafe’s partner organizations.

These services can include counseling, reintegration to their family, police and legal complaints, medical assistance, remedial education, vocational training etc.

February 2008: THINK – ChildSafe has launched its first international campaign
On the 13th of February 2008, the first international ChildSafe campaign – THINK – has been launched in Cambodia. Striking images printed on 2 sets of postcards it shows the results of giving money to begging children. The images were designed by Pascal Colrat, a famous French designer. The campaign will also be launched in Paris and Washington D.C. later this year.
